David Lawrence Geisler
1961 – 2012

David Geisler, the of son of Edward and Mary (Coan Connelly) Geisler, was born July 22, 1961 in Jefferson, Iowa and departed this life March 6, 2012 at his home in Churdan.

David attended and graduated from the Paton-Churdan High School in 1979. During his life, David helped his father with farming, drove truck, managed a hog confinement operation, owned and operated Geisler Liquid Waste Transport, currently worked part time at the Churdan water plant and worked for Tom Thornton with his farming operation.

On June 8, 1991, David was married to Denise LaVine at his mother’s home west of Churdan between the twin oak trees in the front yard. Within their 16 years of marriage a daughter, Amelia Marie, was born.

David was baptized and confirmed at St. Columbkille Catholic Church. David and his beloved dog, Bo, loved to hunt and fish and especially loved to listen to music; sometimes very loud music.

He is survived by his daughter, Amelia, stepsons; Curtise LaVine and Travis Venteicher, grand-children; Landyn, Haidyn and Joplin Venteicher and Brodie LaVine mother, Mary Geisler of Churdan, brothers and sisters; Sylvene Hatfield, Patrick, John, Jerry, Dan, Anne Minnehan, all of Churdan and Andy of Seattle, Washington and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.

A memorial service was held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 10, 2012, at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Churdan with Father Don Ries officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Musical selections were played by organist Richard Carey. Visitation was held at the Brown Funeral Home in Churdan.
