Mass of the Christian Burial for Jerry Geisler, 69, of Churdan will be held Saturday, September 28, 2019, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Churdan with burial made in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery with full military honor conducted by the Camp Dodge Honor Detail and assisted by the Churdan American Legion. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday at the church with was Vigil for the Deceased at 6:30 P.M. Jerry is survived by his wife, Deb, his mother, Mary Geisler of Churdan, children; Todd and his wife, Angela of Loveland, CO., Heidi Geisler of Ankeny and Kirk and his wife, Gina and of Jefferson, brothers; Pat (Marice), John (Marion) and Andy and sister, Anne (Joe) Minnehan, all of Churdan.

             Eugene Jerome Geisler, Jerry as he was known to all, the son of Edward and Mary (Coan Connelly) Geisler Jr., was born February 28, 1950 at Carroll, Iowa and departed this life September 25, 2019 at his home in Churdan, Iowa. He lived his life to 69 years, 6 months and 27 days.
           Jerry attended and graduated from the Paton-Churdan High School in 1968. Jerry worked for many years at the White Phillip 66 service station in Churdan. In August of 1968, Jerry joined the Army National Guard and served for 6 years with the Jefferson National Guard. On June 5, 1971, Jerry Geisler was united in marriage to Debra Vaughn at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Churdan. Three children were born to this union. Jerry and Deb made their home in Churdan and Jerry worked as a driver for FC-Coop for over forty years; retiring in 2015.
           Jerry was a member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church and also the Churdan Lions Club and the Churdan American Legion- Harry English Post #198. Jerry enjoyed spending time at his cabin in the timber and hunting and fishing. He was known to everyone as JG and always made everyone laugh. He looked forward to trips to Colorado each fall. It could be said that Jerry lived his life to the fullest.
           Jerry is survived by his wife, Deb, his 100 year old mother, Mary of Churdan, c hildren; Todd and his wife, Angela and their sons; TeJay and Zack of Loveland, CO., Heidi Geisler of Ankeny and Kirk and his wife, Gina and their sons; Jeremiah, Justin, Jordon, Michael and Kolton of Jefferson, brothers; Pat (Marice), John (Marion) and Andy, sister, Anne (Joe) Minnehan and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Those who preceded him in death were his father, sister, Mary Sylvene Hatfield and two brothers; Dan and David Geisler.
               Mass of the Christian Burial was held Saturday, September 28, 2019, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Columbkille Catholic Church with Father John Gerald officiating. Greg Carey served as Cantor with the church choir and Lois Last was the organist. Burial was made in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Camp Dodge Honor Detail and assisted by the Churdan American Legion.
              Serving as Honorary Casket Bearers were Greg Geisler, Jason Hatfield, Spencer Geisler, Johnny Geisler, Jerad Mount and Spencer Vaughn. Visitation was held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday at the church with Vigil for the Deceased at 6:30 P.M. .
